Today’s world is undeniably fragile, complex, and rapidly changing in almost every aspect. This new era has come to be called the “BANI World” - Brittle, Anxious, Non-linear, and Incomprehensible. People are thus confused and vulnerable, both mentally and physically, which can lead to negative attitudes towards themselves and their surroundings.
As the world becomes more chaotic, people grow increasingly stressed and anxious, which discourages them from thinking outside the box. Design is often perceived as merely decorative and unnecessary for life and society. This, in turn, can cause designers to lose their passion.
It is time for the design industry to demonstrate “what design can do” - how it can help people adapt, solve problems, and face these challenges. Let's work together to transform negative energy into positivity, despair into hope, and challenges into solutions. Our goal is to make design play a more significant role in driving life, society, and cities forward like never before.
BKKDW2025 Returns with the Theme “Design Up+Rising: Facing Challenges with a Positive Twist”
Organized by the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, “Bangkok Design Week 2025” (BKKDW2025), invites everyone in the design industry and other creative fields, as well as anyone who wants to create change, to rise up, view every problem from a positive perspective and, to transcend limitations in unprecedented ways while collectively elevating the value of design together.
BKKDW 2025: Held Across 7 Districts and Other Locations Throughout Bangkok, Featuring Over 180 Event Venues in Two Phases
BKKDW2025 marks its 8th consecutive year, extending its duration and offering even more creative programs under the theme “Design Up+Rising.” The festival will take place from 8 - 23 February 2025, across 7 key districts and other venues throughout Bangkok, divided into two main phases:
- Phase 1 (8 - 16 February 2025): Charoenkrung - Talat Noi, Yaowarat - Song Wat, Pak Khlong Talat, and nearby areas.
- Phase 2 (15 - 23 February 2025): Phra Nakhon, Bang Lamphu - Khao San, and nearby areas.
- Additionally, on Saturdays and Sundays (8 - 9, 15 - 16, and 22 - 23 February 2025), the Hua Lamphong and Bang Pho districts will also join the festival, contributing their vibrant energy to celebrate the power of design.
16-Day Festival Powers Up with 350+ Dynamic Programs
Spanning 16 days, the festival presents over 350 programs that combine creativity in every form—from exhibitions and talks to workshops, music performances, tours, design markets, city-enlivening activities, and special promotions from local shops and restaurants. Join us in driving the city forward, exploring limitless creative possibilities, and tackling challenges with a positive outlook. Through the eyes of designers, partners, and a passionate community, we elevate the value of design, create opportunities, generate income, and breathe life into the city, unlocking its full potential for the future.
