The Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization) or CEA and the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow were invited by the Government of Moscow to organize the Thailand Pavilion with the theme “LIVELY THAI” under the international exhibition platform “Creative Thai Festival” between 3-9 July 2023, at Gorky Park, Moscow, Russia, as part of the Russian Creative Week. CEA supports Thai creative entrepreneurs and businesses at an international level

The Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, operates with the key mission of elevating and sharpening the competitive edge of Thailand’s creative economy at an international level. CEA utilizes value creation as a tool to connect and modify technology and cultural assets to bring about creative products and services. In response to this policy, CEA formed a cooperation with the Government of Moscow, bringing Moscow’s creative industry networks to Thailand, where they joined the Chiang Mai Design Week 2022, held in December last year, and also participated in the organized showcase and workshop. The Government of Moscow also took part in setting up the Moscow Creative Tech Highlights exhibition at the recent Bangkok Design Week 2023 in February and joined the Thai-Russian business matching activity for the animation industry, also at Bangkok Design Week 2023, to share and exchange ideas that focused on further developing creative areas between the two countries.

Dr. Chakrit Pichyangkul, Executive Director of the Creative Economy Agency of Thailand (CEA), who also represented Thailand Pavilion at this event, said, “This Creative Thai Festival: LIVELY THAI, under the umbrella of Russia Creative Week, Moscow Fest, gives CEA the opportunity to showcase creative works from creative businesses in both the government and private sectors as well as academic institutions. I am confident to say that visitors will find a visit to the Thailand Pavilion a wonderful experience, seeing numerous and delightful crafts, textiles, jewelry, films and contents. All of these express and reflect the LIVELY THAI concept of the Thai Pavilion. I am pleased to say that this cooperation marks an important milestone for both Thailand and Russia to further increase our partnership and explore new opportunities to work together to promote the creative industry into the future.”

Evgenia Markova, international expert in creative economy, founder of JMCC global agency: “It was a great honor and also a challenge to bring creative industries of Thailand for the first time in history to the CIS region, especially to Russia. Among people around the world, and CIS is no exception, Thailand is often associated more with touristic leisure, but the advanced technologies and products of the country remain unnoticed quite often. The key goal of the event was to provide a broader view and bring the image towards as a forward-looking and innovative country that is delivering creative products on the highest international level. It was a pleasure to observe the transition of country perception in the audience minds amazed by the opportunity of looking at the country from a new angle, exploring both, traditional arts and crafts, technologies and innovations. This is just the first step, but we can say that the mutual interest is high and the process of finding and developing new opportunities, establishing strong business and cultural ties between Thai and Moscow creative and business communities has started”
